Lauren's Harp

I once visited two dear friends in Oregon. They took me to the street market in Portland for an afternoon of bedazzlement. I ate great food and saw a lot of artisan soap and candles that I enjoyed looking at (but didn't buy). We were preparing to explore "one more row" of vendors when I saw a harp...

My life was changed that day. I put a down payment on what would become my harp, which I received in the mail several months later. It was custom built for me and I named it "Calabi-Yau" after the scientists who apparently first described what is called 'string theory.'

There's a massive pun in all this and it makes me happy!

ANYWAY... I started recording videos of myself playing, some examples of which are posted here. You can find more on YouTube.

 

I think it's fair to tell my viewers/listeners that I don't ACTUALLY know how to play the harp... but I certainly know how to CHANNEL music through the harp.  Just don't ask me to play the same thing twice, and we're good...

It's important to never forget where you came from...

Twinkle, twinkle, little harp ... pluck the strings and time will warp...
